About Dr. Modesti
April Modesti came to chiropractic the same way many of her patients do — a car accident left her with a neck injury and five years of chronic pain. In her case, the treatment she received had quite stunning results: she not only got relief from her suffering, but direction and encouragement to begin a new career!
At the time, early 1980's, there were few women in the field, and Dr. Modesti had the impression that chiropractors needed to be large and strong to apply the force needed to do adjustments. Her doctor gave her words, which inform her work to this day: "You don't need to be strong — you just need to be smart". Dr. Modesti took that advice to heart, and, from the very beginning of her career, always looked for the way that would allow her to use the very least amount of force needed to realign the spine.
Her gentle approach, and tremendous sensitivity to listening to the body are the hallmarks of Dr. Modesti's approach today. "Discovering ever more subtle ways to lead the body to healing is a joy to me," she says. Her unusual manner and deep dedication have earned her the reputation of being the one practitioner who may be able to help when no one else has. "I understand sensitive patients. I was one myself," she adds.
Dr. Modesti's patients are of all ages, sizes, and even species. A lifetime animal lover, she believes four-footed family members also deserve the benefits of her care. Since taking the appropriate courses, Dr. Modesti is able to offer chiropractic services to small animal patients in three local veterinary offices a few hours each week.
Dr. Modesti cooperates with other health professionals in her principal practice, too. Medical doctors, acupuncturists, naturopaths, Pilates practioners and massage therapists are just a few of the people to whom she refers.
"I'm absolutely committed to achieving the best possible health for all of my patients," she says. Her patients attest to her success in reaching her goal. |
